F.R.E.D. -- the Fast Repair Equipment Droid -- is Badlands Droid Builders' pit crew on wheels: a self-balancing ball-bot built to carry a droid mechanic straight to whichever astromech needs a tune-up next. Picture Babu Frik and friends racing across the show floor perched on top, tools in hand, ready to patch up the next patient in line. Right now F.R.E.D. is very much a concept in progress -- the tricky part (balancing and driving on that ball) is already working, while the character himself is still taking shape, so his look, his job, and even his name are all subject to change before he's finished.
