The DJ Rex Body LED Set lights the body of a DJ Rex (RX-series) droid build.
What’s included
- 3 × body LED boards
- 25 × light pipes for the small body LEDs (Bivar VLP-600-R)
What you’ll also need
- A controller for the LEDs — Arduino Nano or Pi Pico breakout; RS-485 Nano breakouts are also available for connecting to a larger control system. Sample code runs on WS2812 NeoPixel / FastLED.
- A clean 5 V power supply — 5 V only; do not run at 6 V.
- 2.54 mm 3-pin Dupont jumper cables to interconnect the boards.
Assembly & wiring
- Fit the 25 light pipes into the small-LED positions on the boards.
- Mount the three boards in the body. [VERIFY: positions / orientation.]
- Daisy-chain the boards with 3-pin jumpers (data + 5 V + GND).
- Connect 5 V/GND and the data line from your controller, then test with the sample code before final assembly.
